Bullying Prevention: Everyone's Responsibility-What Parents Can Do

This informational workshop is designed to review Indiana’s definition of bullying for all students and school requirements for investigating and reporting bullying incidents.  Types and dynamics of bullying will be discussed as well as how parents can report suspected bullying incidents and specific step to help their children address this issue. Special consideration will be given to the bullying of students with disabilities with resources for showing how it may be addressed in a student’s IEP or Section 504 plan.

When adults respond quickly and consistently to bullying behavior they send the message that it is not acceptable. Parents, school staff, and other adults in the community can help kids prevent bullying by talking about it, building a safe school environment, and creating a community-wide bullying prevention strategy.

Certificates of Participation will be available.  There is no charge to attend this workshop and is open to the public.
