Section 504 

 

Section 504 is part of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, a civil rights statute that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. Students who might not qualify for an Individualized Education Program (IEP) may be covered by Section 504. This presentation explains Section 504 as it applies to schools including referral, evaluation, eligibility, and accommodations.
