HANDS in Autism® is an interdisciplinary training and resource center based at Indiana University Indianapolis, IU School of Medicine. It aims to improve the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other special needs through evidence-based behavioral and educational practices
Key Functions and Services:
- Training and Education: HANDS in Autism® provides a range of training programs for educators, medical professionals, and community members. These programs include hands-on training, ongoing coaching, and online courses
- Consultations and Evaluations: The center offers individual and group consultations to help families and professionals develop effective strategies for supporting individuals with ASD
- Resources and Tools: They provide a variety of resources, including toolkits, guides, and informational materials to support individuals with ASD and their families
- Research and Advocacy: HANDS in Autism® engages in research to advance understanding of ASD and advocates for policies and practices that support individuals with ASD
